Prescription Care for your lawn
Meet Dr. Dirt
Philip Green received his agronomic education at Texas A&M University, and held supervisory positions at several golf
courses in Texas, including Champions (Houston), De Cordova Bend Estates (Granbury), El Dorado Country Club
(McKinney) and Squaw Valley (Glen Rose), before coming to Alabama in 1991. While serving as superintendent at
Goosepond Colony Golf Course in Scottsboro, Alabama, Green designed and managed construction for Plantation
Pointe Golf Course, which was later purchased by the city and appended to the Goosepond Colony project.
Subsequently, he took a superintendent position with the Robert Trent Jones Trail, developing Cambrian Ridge Golf
Course from its construction phase to "open" status, before moving to Dothan to revamp Highland Oaks Golf Course.
With his commercial turf management company, Sport Turf Supply, Inc., Green has played an integral role in number
of projects, including stadium renovations at Auburn University and the University of Alabama, field construction and
management at Maxwell Air Force Base Squadron Officer College Outdoor Classroom Facility (32 fields) and Maxwell
Air Force Base Officer Training School Parade Field, and renovations at Wallace College Baseball Field - to name a
few. Many other schools, municipalities and other turf service providers have benefited from Green's expertise.
